Michael started his career in hospitality at 15 years old working in a local diner in Dayton, OH as a dishwasher. In 2001 he moved to Put-in-Bay, OH and started his career in beverage bartending at the Beer Barrel Saloon, the world's longest bar at the time. During the winter he would travel to Key West to work on the private island of Sunset Key, returning to Put-in-Bay for the summers. He moved to Florida year round in 2003 traveling between Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Clearwater Beach while managing beverage programs. Michael moved to Ann Arbor in 2011 and was on the opening team at Mash as the Head Bartender. Michael joined The Pulpo Group in 2013 as a part of the opening team for Aventura. He has also held the Bar Manager position at Sava's and General Manager position at Babo while working for the company. Before returning to The Pulpo Group, he was the Beverage Manager at The Standard Bistro in Ann Arbor and helped open the Love Street Project in Jupiter, FL as the Assistant General Manager and Sommelier at Beacon. He returned to The Pulpo Group in December 2022 as the Bar Manager at The Dixboro Project. When Michael is not working he loves to longboard, paddle board, hike, and go camping.
