In addition to the new and dynamic interior spaces, the surrounding acreage will be rededicated to recreational interaction with Fleming Creek and its environs. All outdoor programming will be designed and executed with deliberate care and respect for the neighboring community, with established limits on sound amplification and event size/type. SavCo is also working closely with the Huron River Watershed Council on preservation and stewardship of the property section of Fleming Creek, as well as on varied educational programming and the execution of responsible storm water runoff practices including extensive use of rain gardens.

We are committed to consistent involvement at both the township and village level, to encourage, support and contribute to non-motorized pathway development.

Recreational areas will begin to take shape in early 2021 beginning with the field to the southeast side of the building which has been designated as a natural playscape for children, and their parents.  Picture kids running and playing with other community kids with happy parents close by enjoying the laughter of children, views of the creak and great food and drink with easy access to the takeout counter.  The area also is intended to host birthday parties as well as kid themed seasonal activities and events.

Other recreation and picnic areas will be developed in phases per our 5-year full restoration plan. Learn more about our Creek Restoration Plans here link.
